RxWeb are delighted to introduce RxWeb FMD our standalone web-based solution which facilities pharmacies requirements of the new Falsified Medications Directive (FMD) law. Please see some key FAQs below.
What does it do?
RxWeb FMD allows pharmacies to scan medication packs and check the following aspects:
- Verify: Check medication packs are real – this will not change medication status.
- Supply: Medication is marked as dispensed/supplied and automatically decommissions on day 11.
- Reintroduce: Reverse previously dispensed/supplied packs enabling you to put them back on the shelf – must be actioned during the 10-day window.
- Decommission: Decommission medicines that are destroyed, free samples or stolen.
How much does it cost?
|Installation and Set-Up Fee||Monthly Software License and Support Fee|
|RxWeb PMR Customer||£120 + VAT||£25 + VAT|
|Non-RxWeb Customer||£250 + VAT||£30 + VAT|

What barcode scanners do we recommend?
RxWeb have tried and tested some 2D scanners which are fully compatible with RWeb FMD. We have also been in contact with Peak-Ryzex to provide our customers with a preferential rate. Scanners range from £94.50 to £165 (excluding VAT) depending on the scanner type and how you want to include FMD within your current processes and procedures. Please contact Peak-Ryzex directly and ask to speak to Fiona Weller. It is likely that most 2D scanners are compatible with RxWeb FMD however, these have not been tested and customers buy them are their own risk.
